Drawing

These examples were made as part of a Historic Crafts module at City and Guilds, first year Stone & Wood Conservation.

Completing the drawing module, has allowed me to improved my ability to approach an object with clear intentions. For instance, first thoughts help me to quickly capture the essential characteristics of an object, identifying areas that may require more in-depth investigation. Sketches and diagrams enable me to explore different options for conservation treatments or to plan interventions. Meanwhile, studies provide a more detailed analysis of specific areas of an object, allowing me to focus on its qualities, details or structure.

Drawing is an essential part of my practise.
