About me

I am a freelance objects conservator living and mostly working in London. I work across a wide range of organic and inorganic materials, including decorative surfaces, wood, stone, archaeological textiles, metals, and mixed-media objects. I provide services in interventive and preventive conservation for the care and safeguarding of cultural heritage, historic collections, and privately owned objects, including film supervision. I am able to carry out basic analysis to support treatment decisions using microscopy and UV examination; however, I have also been trained in the use of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and chemical testing. The process is fully documented, and a treatment report or notes are always provided. I am a member of ICOM and IIC, fully insured, and hold both PASMA and CSCS cards, ensuring all work is carried out ethically, safely, and to high standards. I am experienced in managing hazardous materials under COSHH, including lead, pest-infested objects, and heavy or large components. I attend conferences to stay up to date with the field and to gain inspiration from fellow colleagues.

My research interests include conservation ethics, sustainable materials, applications of technology and science in conservation, and emerging heritage fields such as cyberspace and space archaeology.

My experience as a lecturer and film producer informs my conservation practice, including outreach programmes and managing large-scale projects within a short timeframe and limited budget. I am also a web designer with a selective approach to maintain balance alongside conservation commitments. I focus on startups, cultural and education projects.
